5 PQE+ IP/IT Associate, Commercial & Infrastructure, Birmingham or Leeds

We are looking for an Associate to play a key role in our IP/IT team to be based in either Birmingham or Leeds. With in-depth, industry-focused expertise, the team advises on the procurement, licensing and supply of tech products and services to a wide range of public and private sector clients. In an increasingly complex and competitive commercial landscape, the team is helping more and more clients keep pace with change – making this an exciting time to join.
Your work will focus on high-value, long-term projects for the likes of NHS bodies, local authorities and central government agencies, as well as private sector companies. That could mean advising on outsourcing, IT infrastructure and support service agreements on projects as varied as electronic patient records and European grant funding systems.
Your remit will be broad and interesting, giving you extensive client contact from the outset. Throughout, you’ll be well supported in an experienced, inclusive team.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- 5 Years PQE+
- Good experience in drafting and negotiating contracts (including IT contracts) and have some understanding of corporate structures.
- Demonstrate a real interest in IT or technology law, with a keenness to develop further.
- In addition to IT experience you should also have experience on advising on non-contentious intellectual property matters preferably including brand strategies, licensing and exploitation
- An ability to liaise effectively with clients
- Strong business development skills
Additionally, you may have worked in Private Practice, establishing yourself as a reliable and capable commercial lawyer dealing with a breadth of clients. We’d equally like to hear from you if you’ve worked in-house at a tech firm or within the public sector, and are looking to make the move to a law firm. Property Paralegal – Leeds
Bevan Brittan provides practical, high quality and commercially relevant legal services to public, private and third sector organisations. Our experience includes working with clients across central and local government, NHS commissioning and provider organisations, 40 housing associations and over 100 private sector companies.
We are currently recruiting a Paralegal to join our Social Housing team in our Leeds office. The Social Housing team act mostly for Housing Associations, providing advice on all aspects of property law.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to work within a busy team on a wide range of property matters, predominantly focused on sales for our Housing Association clients (shared ownership, re-sale price covenant, outright sales, land disposals). Additional tasks will include supporting the partners in the team in relation to acquisition from developers (completion statements, liaising about completion dates, priority searches etc) and supporting the team on security work (reviewing searches, reviewing titles, assisting in preparing disclosures for certificates of title)
Applicants must be able to demonstrate previous property experience dealing with sales work. The team is a very supportive environment which will provide on the job training for social housing aspects of the role, and you will receive ongoing day to day support from the more experienced lawyers. Previous Social Housing experience is not therefore essential for this role, but an interest in Social Housing would be a real advantage.
Attention to detail, efficiency and the ability to use your own initiative will be essential for this position, and the ability to work to challenging deadlines will be imperative.

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our Clinical Risk department in Birmingham. The Clinical Risk department is a member of the NHSLA Clinical Negligence panel and it is highly regarded for its work with the NHS.
The role will involve providing efficient and pro-active Paralegal support to a team of busy lawyers. Previous defendant Clinical Negligence experience is desirable for this position but not essential. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills are essential for this role. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with good interpersonal skills.
