  • We are pleased to invite you to a small seminar, offering the opportunity to consider the role of the Senior Independent Director (SID) and network with people who share an interest in this position. A SID is a non-executive director whose role is enhanced in a number of ways. It isn’t a new concept in corporate governance, but their use by social landlords is only recently growing. As housing organisations look for new ways to challenge their governance function, now is the time to explore this role - whether you already have a SID or not.

    The seminar will:

    - Explore the theory and practice of the role
    - Consider how SIDs are used both inside and outside of the housing sector
    - Discuss the benefits and the challenges, skills required and how this can vary
    - Give attendees the opportunity to discuss and share their thoughts on the role
