Bevan Brittan LLP is among the legal advisers that have been newly appointed to support the Housing Associations’ Legal Alliance (‘HALA’).

HALA is a collaboration of some of the UK’s leading housing associations formed for the purposes of achieving significant cost savings and increased efficiencies in the sourcing of external legal services for its members. The tender process was managed by specialist legal consultancy Kennedy Cater who also manage the framework.

Bevan Brittan will provide legal advisory and litigation services on matters involving housing and asset management – including disputes, tenancy fraud, possessions and gas safety access injunctions. The new legal framework takes effect from September 1, 2018.

Client lead partners Neil Brand and John Cox said:

“We are very pleased to be working again with HALA, which is providing a valuable legal service to a wide range of housing associations with different needs across the country. Housing associations are currently going though a period of considerable change and innovation, and it is important that they have access to first-class legal services that also provide excellent value for money.”

HALA members include:

Advance, BME London, Hastoe, Hexagon, Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association, Merlin, Newlon Housing Trust, Octavia Housing, Optivo, Origin Housing, Phoenix Community Housing Association, Saxon Weald, Shepherds Bush Housing Association, Wandle, and Wellingborough Homes.
