Five legal experts have been named as new Partners at Bevan Brittan as part of a record round of promotions at all levels across the expanding national firm.
In all, 38 colleagues have been promoted across the business, with a new Legal Director, 13 new Senior Associates and 19 Associates joining the quintet of Partners recognised for their contributions to another strong year for the law firm.
Successful candidates come from all four of the firm’s UK offices, with 16 in Bristol, ten in London, nine in Leeds and three in Birmingham, representing the broad range of teams and market expertise within the business.
The quintet of new Partners includes three health and care specialists with Claire Leonard, Emma Timmons and Raj Kang all promoted. They are joined by litigation and regulatory expert Claire Jones and property lawyer Kate Hicks.
Litigation and regulatory expert Adrian Neale is also promoted, becoming a Legal Director in Bristol.
The news comes after a 12-month period in which Bevan Brittan also recruited 32 new senior hires to meet growing demand for its services.
The promotions were welcomed by the firm’s Managing Partner, who said they were a sign of firm wide success as the business continues to expand into new markets and rapidly-developing areas of law.
Managing Partner Duncan Weir said: “A record round of promotions tells its own story for both those who have been recognised and the wider business. Every single one of our successful colleagues has played a major role in our growth and in meeting the increasing demand for our advice on a broad range of issues.
“Building on a decade of consistent growth, we continue to go from strength to strength. This year’s promotions reflect both the breadth and depth of the expertise and experience within our business, as well as our commitment to equality and the value we place on diversity. Following this promotions round, 52% of our Partners are women. Because we know that diversity enriches our business, we will continue supporting talented people to succeed.”
He added: “This year we have also welcomed 32 senior lateral hires into our business. This is testament to the reputation we have for the work we do and the clients we act for. Our new joiners also tell us that they value the career development support and hybrid working environment we provide to enable them to balance their lives.”
News of the promotions comes just days after Bevan Brittan announced its latest senior hire in the fast-moving and developing area of information and privacy law, with Vicki Bowles joining as a Partner in Bristol.
In the past 12 months, the firm has also moved into new offices in Birmingham to house its expanding Midlands operation and announced that its Leeds team has grown to more than 100 employees. The business recorded its tenth consecutive year of revenue and profit growth in 2022/23 and retains a positive outlook for its 2023/24 financial results.
