I am a lawyer within the Social Housing team and I have worked within the property sector for over a decade. I act for a range of housing associations in connection with development, acquisition and security work.
My experience includes:
- Acquiring land sites for a variety of national house builders for development as private residential housing and affordable housing
- Dealing with the sale of affordable housing by private developers to Registered Providers in accordance with statutory obligations in section 106 Agreements
- Advising private land owners and developers on conditional contracts for the acquisition of land subject to planning or other matters
- Acting for a number of Housing Associations in relation to the acquisition of section 106 affordable housing units including advising on any associated section 106 agreements to ensure that units can be placed into charge in future
- Acting for various Housing Association in relation to the acquisition of sites through a back to back contractor led-schemes
- Extensive experience in relation to plot sales having previously acted for developer clients for 5 years and now for registered provider clients
- Dealing with commercial leases, lease assignments and renewals
- Dealing with securitisation of stock portfolios including advising on title and other issues that affect security value
