• I am an employment and immigration specialist advising a range of clients including employment agencies, care providers, airlines and a range of manufacturers. I began my career representing claimants in a range of employment related claims before moving onto respondent work. I have worked with a wide range of clients including, but not limited to, employment agencies, care providers, airlines and a range of manufacturers.

My work has ranged from advice and support to in house legal and HR teams, managing the exits of senior employees, guidance on handling a disciplinary or grievance process, robustly defending employment tribunal claims and also providing strategic advice in relation to acquisitions and restructures and the employment related considerations. My current practice covers both contentious and non-contentious matters.

I thoroughly enjoy providing commercially sound, clear to follow and strategic advice to my clients - whatever their issue or concern may be.

Rachel Newman is one of the most intelligent lawyers I've worked with. Not only can she see a way through complicated legal issues, but her ability to engage with even the most tricky of opponents with positivity ensures great outcomes.

    • Representing a well-known international airline in multiple employment tribunal claims. Owing to the identity of the client the cases were often high profile attracting a media interest. I consistently provided clear, understandable and commercially sound advice to secure the best possible outcome.
    • Providing advice and guidance to a leading provider of care and support services to vulnerable adults throughout the UK. Our client was in a growth phase acquiring numerous independent care homes. I supported them through this process by undertaking the necessary due diligence and also advising on any TUPE implications.

Rachel Newman’s client service is excellent; she manages complex work and makes it sound less scary. She’s trustworthy, calm and easy to work with.
