Legal services regulators

Bevan Brittan advises many of the England and Wales legal services regulators, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Bar Standards Board, the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, and the Intellectual Property Regulation Board.

As the lawyers of legal professionals too, we see the industry and the regulatory landscape from all angles. Our teams combine to support clients in day-to-day issues and in a range of contentious cases.

And we get involved from the beginning, helping to design the rules that promote and maintain professional standards. We advise regulators on the application of policies and on conduct allegations. Where this calls for a regulatory disciplinary, we take on the handling of that process on regulators’ behalf. And we represent clients in litigation, including judicial reviews and appeals to the Supreme Court.
