As of 8 April 2025 a number of court fees have changed. 

These changes have been brought into effect by amendments to the Court of Protection Fees Order 2007, the Civil Proceeding Fees Order 2008, and the Family Proceedings Fees Order 2008.

We’ve extracted some important changes for those working on Court of Protection, family, and civil/public law matters below:

Any process received by HM Courts and Tribunals Service on or after 8 April 2025 will be dealt with under the new fee order. If a valid process was received before 8 April 2025 in a fit state to issue, then the old fee will apply, even if it is actioned after the fee increase. Any process received before 8 April 2025 but returned because there was an error and then subsequently resubmitted after 8 April 2025, will attract the new fee.
