• I am a specialist employment lawyer advising employers in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment and HR matters. I act for a wide range of employers in all commercial sectors, from SMEs to multinational employers, as well as charities and independent health and social care organisations.

I have particular expertise and experience supporting clients in the Education sector and, since qualifying as a solicitor in 2011, I have worked with a number of state-maintained and faith schools; academies and multi-academy trusts; independent schools; and further education colleges.

This work has included ‘business as usual’ employment matters such as absence management and consideration of reasonable adjustments for disabled employees, disciplinary and grievances, pay disputes, redundancies, and contract and policy drafting. I also specialise in more complex settlement negotiations, board level disputes, trade union recognition and negotiations and offer strategic advice on large-scale redundancies and restructures.  Specific projects undertaken include reports at Board level on key strategic issues or risks, including employment status and holiday pay cases.

I am experienced in supporting with complex discrimination claims, TUPE matters, holiday pay/working time claims, whistleblowing claims and claims for unfair dismissal, including representing clients in Employment Tribunals. I have acted for clients where cases have been appealed to the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

I am an experienced trainer and regularly facilitate in-house and external training sessions on a range of employment/HR topics.

I also sit on the board of a local multi-academy trust.
