The Leeds office of national law firm Bevan Brittan is celebrating after being short-listed for no fewer than five prestigious awards in two forthcoming ceremonies.

The team at the firm’s Toronto Square office in Leeds city centre have been nominated for five potential accolades for the Yorkshire Legal Awards, which will take place in October, as well as also being in the running in one category at the Insider Yorkshire Property Awards in September.

Bevan Brittan has been nominated for the high-profile ‘Law Firm of the Year – Large’ category in the Yorkshire Legal Awards, as well as for awards for its work on Commercial Property matters, in Litigation and Dispute Resolution and for its diversity and inclusion successes as well.

Those four awards will be announced at a black tie ceremony on October 6 at New Dock Hall in Leeds

Meanwhile, just a fortnight before that, the team will also be hoping for success in the prestigious Property Law Firm of the Year category at the Insider Yorkshire Property Awards, which will be held on September 22, again at New Dock Hall.

James Atkins, Head of Leeds for Bevan Brittan, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our work for our clients and the efforts of all our team members have been recognised by this fantastic showing in the shortlists.

“Obviously, we’ll be hoping for a successful night at both events but, beyond that, it shows the continued expansion of our business and reputation in both our existing and emerging markets.

“Our focus will always be on delivering exceptional service for our clients and that, along with our impressive market knowledge across the team, will continue to ensure Bevan Brittan is a great business to work with and a great place to build a legal career.”

The news is the latest in a series of positive developments for the firm’s Yorkshire team, which has also seen the arrival of additional senior lawyers since the beginning of 2021 including Simon Jackson (Partner) from Shulmans (now Knights); Sarah Wilson (Partner) from Knights; Nigel Bolton (Partner) from Freeths; and Niamh Batterton (Legal Director) from Addleshaw Goddard.

The office also raised over £30,000 in the past financial year for its office charity Maggies, with fundraising activities including the Three Peaks challenge, January walking challenge, a 10k run and sweepstakes.

The Leeds office also celebrated the promotion of several of its team as part of Bevan Brittan’s record promotion round in May and the firm also achieved carbon neutral status as part of its responsible business programme.
